Just starting over, Getting into the technical stuff
So yeah, title explains all
I played GW just as any other MMORPG and went with what i wanted, and i didnt do so well, and just quit, not really a /ragequit, just boredom of trying and failing. So now im back, and making a Ranger, but i need a build, although thats not my question. I went to pvxwiki.com and Its build heaven, but i dont know what these mean: General Farming Running Hero Teams All PvE builds I understand they are all types of builds, but im unsure of what they all mean. Sorry for my idiocy, unlike other i DO SEE my mis-understandings, and again, unlike most i am very willing to learn. so dont flame here please, keep it on Youtube. Shanks, and cheers. |

Hero means builds that heroes themselves can effectively use (they spam skills, are godly with interrupts, etc...) so youll see things like power drain to manage energy, etc...

General- They are just build for general use. That's why they are called "General"
Farming- Farming is when players set up their build and runes on their armor to fit the area they are going into and usually the builds they use are semi-invincible meaning that as long as they use it correctly-they are invincible. So they go out with the semi-invincible build and kill monsters. usually a big mob. map back to town, and repeat. Only to get items. THAT's farming. So in that section there will be builds for farming. Now if you are new i recommend not thinking about that atm. Running- In the Prophecies campaign and Eye of the North expansion you can get people to run you to more advanced outposts and towns of the game. The reason you can't run in Factions or Nightfall campaigns is that ANet made the missions the only way to procceed to advanced outposts, and they mission gates are closed unless you have the spacific quest. Now running usually involves a lower-level or a less experienced player paying someone at a higher lvl or more experienced to run him to an advanced outpost. All of the running builds will include skills (mostly stances) that IMS(Improve Movement Speed. Hero- Heroes are AI that were introduced with the Nightfall campaign and also used in the Eye of the North expansion. They are practically customizable henchmen. You can get them new armor (though it doesn't matter) and give them weapons and set up their build. Teams- There are builds in here that only work if you have the right team, so say if you are going to a high-end area you can't just walk in with some henchmen. So over here there would be a bunch of builds for a specific reason. All PvE builds- Every build in the PvE section will be here. (Every category I explained about) |
